Welcome to Washington Park! Washington Park, affectionately called “Wash Park” by many of its residents, is undoubtedly one of Denver´s most desirable and sought-after neighborhoods. The Washington Park neighborhood, which borders Downing Street, Speer Street, and University Boulevard, is only minutes away from downtown Denver and encompasses the beautiful 165 acre Washington Park.
Since the majority of Washington Park´s homes were built between 1900 and 1940, the neighborhood is graced by early 20th century architecture including the famous Denver Square homes and charming bungalows. Since some of the homes are over a century old, many of them have gone through extensive renovations.
The Washington Park neighborhood, which was once considered to be extremely rural, was developed as one of the first “suburbs” of Denver although this is hard to believe considering its urban character. Eugene Field, a famous Denver poet, was among the first residents during the late 19th century.
Because of its central Denver location and close proximity to charming business districts, Washington Park´s popularity has steadily increased during the past few decades. In addition to the park itself, the area is home to an array of restaurants and shops including those located on Old South Gaylord Street, Alameda Avenue and South Pearl Street.
Since TeamCox Realtors has been involved with many Washington Park real estate transactions, we have extensive knowledge about the area. Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding buying and selling real estate in Washington Park. We are your Denver real estate specialists.
